EERA was established in 2000 by a group of riders who shared
the same passion for endurance riding and who also had a strong interest in improving the living conditions in the area
in which they were riding.
They established the organisation as an NGO registered with
the Ministry of Social Solidarity under number 1561, with an office in Abu Sir. Most of the members of EERA are either
full or part time residents of the area.
The NGO is now very active in social, economic and
environmental development, it is currently implementing several projects for solid waste collection and disposal, environmental
education, women and youth empowerement as well as protection of traditional cultural heritgae.
